We are approximately 5.5 months into this project and well ahead of schedule. This is a 27 acre site located in Elmsford, NY that was once used as a driving range. The construction of this new Two story Fed Ex facility and a parking deck structure has precast concrete panels, the second floor slab is sandwich slab with the insulation of hot applied asphalt membrane between the slabs. We will be installing sprinklers, fire alarms, interior and landscape lighting, HVAC and plumbing. The site slopes stigmatically down toward Saw Mill River, there are tons of rocks which was a tremendous challenge when he had to drive piles in certain locations. The construction activities after demolishingthe existing driving range consisted of the removal of asbestos, excavation, the placement of fill, foundation, pile driving and drilling, dewatering all while conserving the nearby wetlands. The required civil work consists of a new water main manholes, retaining walls and new parking deck on the top of the facility which will then be covered by a roof . The landscape consist of massive retaining walls throughout the building, planting and the installation of chain link fence with barb wire. We are scheduled to fully turn the building over to Fed Ex 6/16.
