We’re excited to congratulate MÁS Development, Lecesse Development, and the full Vinty project team!

Vintage City was awarded the NAIOP New Jersey’s Mixed-Use Deal of the Year!

This regional development project offers modern apartments, stylish office and co-working spaces, and a vibrant food and bar scene—all in one place.

This award honors an effort that helped reshape the heart of Elizabeth, NJ.

A Major Boost for Midtown Elizabeth

Vinty, one of the first projects of Vintage City, brought 267 new homes and 37,000 square feet of commercial space to the city, while also helping spark new energy, foot traffic, and local business growth.

The project also introduced Vintage City Offices, a co-working space created to support local professionals and small businesses. Don Treich led the planning and execution of this feature, which added a valuable layer to the development’s community impact.

Vinty has been welcomed with open arms by residents and city leaders alike.

One member from the Planning and Community Development Board for the City of Elizabeth shared their thoughts:

“We’re getting the foot traffic, the businesspeople, and the residents from all around that area… Everybody here in town is excited. They can’t believe it!”

Built with Purpose

Sal Garcia, founder of MÁS Development, grew up in Elizabeth and wanted to build something meaningful for the city. When his original investor didn’t share his vision, he made the choice to find a better-aligned partner.

“When you’re partnering with someone, it’s a long journey,” Sal said. “It’s important to make sure that they share the same values as you.”

The results speak for themselves. The project reached 98% occupancy and set the stage for two more developments now in progress: Ecco and Trio.

“It’s really the start of a downtown hub for the city of Elizabeth,” said one of Elizabeth’s planning board members. “And it’s exciting to know I’ve had a small part in making that happen.”

March Construction: A Steady Hand in Tough Times

Just before opening, Hurricane Ida caused millions in flood damage. The pandemic added delays and supply issues, but March Construction helped keep things moving.

“If you can work with somebody that finds solutions the way March does, you’re ultimately saving money—and that’s important.”

They secured insurance, replaced equipment fast, and used quiet roads during lockdown to speed up deliveries. Their resourcefulness helped control costs and stay on track.

“Excellent professionals,” added a representative from the Township of Elizabeth. “They deliver on what they promise, while many over-promise and under-deliver.”

Cheers to the Whole Team!

Vinty is proof that thoughtful planning, trusted partnerships, and strong leadership can create real change.

Congratulations again to MÁS Development, Sal Garcia, Don Treich, Lecesse Development, the City of Elizabeth, and everyone who brought this project to life.

Your work is helping shape the future of Elizabeth.
