Plaza Greene Breaks Ground in Fair Lawn: March Construction Begins Work on Major Mixed-Use Redevelopment

The March Construction Team at Plaza Greene Groundbreaking Ceremony in Fair Lawn, New Jersey

March Construction is proud to announce that construction has officially begun on Plaza Greene, a highly anticipated mixed-use redevelopment in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

The project broke ground on June 11, 2026, marking the start of construction on a long-awaited transformation at the corner of Fair Lawn Avenue and Plaza Road, adjacent to the Radburn Train Station.

Formerly known as the Dealz Property, the site was once home to several retail uses over the past 60 years, including Dollar Tree, Rite Aid, and Grand Union Supermarket. The outdated L-shaped strip mall has since been demolished, clearing the way for a new transit-oriented community designed to bring housing, retail, and public improvements to one of Fair Lawn’s most visible corridors.

As the project’s general contractor / construction manager, March Construction is excited to help bring this important redevelopment from vision to reality.

Plaza Greene Breaks Ground with Governor Mikie Sherill

Developed by Danbro Properties and Sterling Properties, Plaza Greene will feature 145 age-restricted apartments for residents 55 and older, underground parking, affordable housing opportunities, and a Sprouts Farmers Market on the ground floor. The new store will mark Sprouts Farmers Market’s first location in Bergen County.

The groundbreaking event brought together state and borough officials, project partners, and community leaders to celebrate the start of construction. Attendees included Governor Mikie Sherill, Fair Lawn Mayor Cristina Cutrone, Fair Lawn Main Street Board Chair Gail Rottenstrich, developer Kevin Codey of Danbro Properties, Steven Katz and Wayne Zuckerman of Sterling Properties, Lou March of March Construction, Laura Martino of Sprouts Farmers Market, and other local officials and community stakeholders.

Plaza Greene is expected to play a major role in the continued revitalization of Fair Lawn’s downtown and transit district. Located beside the Radburn Train Station, the project will improve pedestrian connections, add new public spaces, and create a stronger link between the train station and surrounding downtown businesses.

For March Construction, the start of Plaza Greene marks the next step in transforming an underutilized property into a vibrant, walkable, mixed-use destination that will serve Fair Lawn residents for years to come.

With demolition complete and construction now underway, March Construction is proud to partner with Danbro Properties, Sterling Properties, Sprouts Farmers Market, and the Borough of Fair Lawn on a project that will bring lasting value to the community.

We look forward to sharing more updates as Plaza Greene continues to take shape!
